The Waxahachie boys’ soccer team netted its first-ever 6A playoff victory Thursday — and did it in upset fashion at Panther Stadium in Hewitt.

Waxahachie, which finished fourth in District 11-6A, knocked off District 12-6A champion (13-2-5) Belton, 1-nil.

Bryan Dominguez scored the game-winning goal on a JP Lopez assist in the first half. The playoff win was the first at the Class 6A level for the program. It also marked the fourth playoff win for head coach Seth Riley.

The Indians, who are now 14-9-1 on the season, will face (10-8-5) Rockwall Heath at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Forester Field in Dallas.

The Hawks defeated Rowlett, 1-nil, in the bi-district championship and finished third in District 10-6A.
