Daniel Dopson is entering his third year with the Waxahachie Indians and second as the Director of Sports Medicine. He is primarily in charge of football and track & field. He spent his first three years professionally at Desoto ISD before coming to Waxahachie. Prior to working at Desoto, Daniel attended Oklahoma State University where he received his Master's in Athletic Training and his Bachelor's in Health Education & Promotion. He was born and raised in DFW and graduated from Midlothian High School.

Takhaira Craig MAT, LAT, ATC

Takhaira Craig is an Athletic Trainer from Olive Branch, Mississippi, with experience at the collegiate level, including four NCAA tournaments and a National Championship appearance. She served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Jackson State University from 2023 to 2025. Takhaira earned her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University in 2019 and completed her Master’s in Athletic Training at Arkansas State University in 2023.
Tyra Gatson MS, LAT, ATC, CES

Tyra Gatson is athletic trainer for Waxahachie ISD. She earned her Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from The University of Houston where she gained experience and knowledge in a variety of settings. In 2019, she earned her Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology where she was also a member of the UH Women’s Basketball staff as a student manager. Tyra was born and raised in Plano, Tx and is a graduate of Plano East Senior High. She will primarily be working with cross country, basketball, softball, and junior high sports. In her personal time, Tyra enjoys working out, binge watching TV shows, and basketball.
Jared Session MAT, LAT, ATC

Jared Session enters his first year working at Waxahachie ISD as an athletic trainer. He has experience working in a variety of setting including an orthopedic trauma clinic, high school, college, and professional sports. Before coming to Waxahachie, Jared worked at Stephen F. Austin State University working with the men’s basketball and women’s bowling team. Jared attended college at Texas Tech University where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2020 and Master’s degree of Athletic Training in 2023. Originally born in Mountain Home, Idaho, Jared considers Texas as home growing up in a military family. In his free time, he enjoys staying active by playing basketball, golf, and spending time with family and his pet cat Gigi.
