The Waxahachie High School swim team competed in the Waco Spooktacular meet Saturday, Oct. 29.
Ten schools competed and the Waxahachie girls and boys teams each placed second individually with a combined second place overall.
Senior Asa Condor broke the longstanding 200 freestyle record, which had stood for 20 years. The previous record of 1:58.50 was held by Michael Kelsey. Asa's new record is 1:57.92.
Freshman Malyah Reeves broke the school record for the 100 backstroke that was previously set by Ashlyn Florence in 2016 with a time of 1:10.17. Malya shaved almost two seconds off that time, swimming a 1:08.96.
